Layoff/Recall and Severance Package

In the event the County lays off a bargaining unit employee in accordance with the Uniform Personnel Policy and Procedures such employee laid off shall be entitled to elect recall rights to the former position for 24 months or, in the alternative, a severance package continuing the employee in paid status during a 90-day transition period and payment of medical insurance plan only for six (6) months.
Written notice of a pending layoff shall be given to any regular full time or part time bargaining unit employee at least thirty (30) calendar days in advance of the effective date. Probationary employees may be laid off without prior notice.
