Getting Started with MRSC's Discussion Forum

MRSC's Discussion Forum is a virtual conference center where Washington city and county officials can meet and share information on the Web. The Discussion Forum allows you to do something "virtually" that you have been doing for years at conferences - networking with your colleagues and sharing information. But you don't have to travel any further than your home or office PC to participate in these discussions.

How to Register as a New User

  • Go to our "Discussion Forums" page.
  • If this is your first visit, you will see a "Welcome/Log In" page.
  • On the "Welcome/Log In" page, Click on the "New User" button.
  • Fill out the form on the "New User Information" page, then click on the "Create" button.
  • Once you have registered, the system will automatically e-mail a password to you.

Log In and Start Networking

  • Get your password from the e-mail and return to the "Welcome/Log In" page.
  • At the "Welcome/Log In" page, enter your login name and new password. (Short cut: copy the password from the e-mail and paste it into the password box.)
  • To have the Discussion Forum remember you on future visits, check the "remember my password" box on the login page. As long as you enter the forum from the same browser, the system recognizes you, skips the login page, and immediately displays the forums list.
  • Click on the "Log In" button and start networking!
  • To view topics within a forum, click the plus symbol (+) next to a forum name (or the forum name itself) in the frame to the left.

Use the MRSC Discussion Forum to:

  • Post a question to other city/county officials
  • Answer a question posted by someone else
  • Share information, ideas, experience and resources
  • Join the current discussion or start a new one
  • Just browse the conversation
